February 6, 2023, Herbert A. (Herb) Dyer assumed the position of President, Daughters of Charity, Ministries (DCM), Inc., the operations area of the Daughters of Charity, Province of St. Louise. In his role as president, Dyer will oversee the day-to-day operations of the four campuses (Albany, N.Y., Emmitsburg, Md., Evansville, Ind., and St. Louis, Mo.), as well as the oversight of DCM’s nine sponsored ministries (subsidiaries) based in Emmitsburg and Bladensburg, Md., Chicago, Ill., Evansville, Ind., and Brownsville, Tex. Dyer is the first to hold this newly created role.
Dyer was most recently a Managing Partner with PatternShifts, a performance improvement firm founded in Austin, Tex. Dyer mentored chief executive officers in his role with Vistage as a Vistage Chair, where he focused on strategic planning. He also has served as a management consultant; in executive roles at the Seton Family of Hospitals and the region’s Hospital Continuity and Community Outreach efforts in Austin; and as Associate Executive Director for New York Health and Hospital Corporation.
Dyer holds a Master’s in Public Administration degree from the School of Public Affairs, Baruch College, City University of New York, NY; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Economics from Queens College, Queens, N.Y. A long-distance cycling enthusiast, Dyer enjoys travel and history. He and his wife Vanessa have two grown children.
