Honoring Daughters’ 95-Year Ministry in Perryville

May 12, 2017

The Association of the Miraculous Medal (AMM) in Perryville, Missouri is launching a much needed, major restoration campaign which will also include some beautiful new features. Time has taken its toll on these hallowed grounds.

A special part of this restoration will be a new statue dedicated to the Daughters of Charity to be placed near the entrance of the new mile-long rosary walk leading to the Grotto.

The Daughters of Charity served the Perryville community for 95 years and their commitment has influenced many local families and the entire community.

The Daughters were a link for the apparitions of our Blessed Mother to St. Catherine Laboure in the 1800s, the resulting Miraculous Medal, and, along with the Vincentian Brothers and Priests, the creation of the AMM.

This life size bronze statue of Mary reaching out to visitors will permanently recognize the 95-year commitment of the Daughters to their Perryville ministry, more than 200 of them in total. Over 55 of these Daughters were from the Perryville area, truly remarkable.
