We, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in the United States affirm the statement from the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) about the November 19 shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We join our hearts in prayer for the victims, their friends and family, and the entire LGBTQ+ community in the wake of this horrific event. We also pledge to root out the causes of violence, hate, and exclusion within ourselves, our communities, and our nation. In the wake of another mass shooting, we call on our lawmakers to take long-overdue steps to pass legislation to prevent further gun violence in our nation.
